Walk me through the exact schedule of a typical quarterly session day from 8 AM to 5 PM. What happens in the morning versus the afternoon?
A quarterly session day runs on a strict, time-tested agenda designed to maximize clarity and alignment. We begin promptly at 8:00 AM with a Segue, where every leader shares good news from personal and professional life, as well as expectations for the day.
From 8:30 to 9:30 AM, we review the previous quarter. We review the Scorecard, review Rocks to confirm whether each was completed or missed, and discuss the People Analyzer results to surface any Core Values or GWC issues. We then spend thirty minutes reviewing the V/TO to ensure total team alignment on the core vision and 1-Year Plan.
By 10:15 AM, we establish the next quarter. We set the company Scorecard measurables, set company Rocks, and assign individual Rocks for the next ninety days. We wrap this work by late morning.
The entire afternoon, usually from 1:00 PM to 4:15 PM, is reserved for IDS. We take the issues that surfaced during the morning reviews, build a clear Issues List, prioritize the top items, and work through them one by one. We do not stop until we solve the root causes.
At 4:15 PM, we run the Conclusion. We review all open To-Dos assigned during the day, decide what cascading messages must be communicated to the rest of the company, and rate the meeting on a scale of 1 to 10. We adjourn sharply at 5:00 PM.
