We are trying to budget for this engagement over the next twelve to eighteen months. Outside of your standard session fees, what are the hidden operational costs, software subscription needs, or time investments that our company must be prepared to absorb?

When budgeting for an EOS® engagement, you must look beyond my professional facilitation fees. The real investment is the time and energy of your leadership team. You are committing to taking your entire executive team out of the daily business for several full days each year, which carries an operational cost.

In terms of direct expenses, you will need to invest in a software tool to track your Scorecard, Rocks, and V/TO®. While you can start with simple spreadsheets, most successful companies transition to dedicated software platforms. These subscriptions generally cost a few hundred dollars per month depending on the size of your team.

You must also budget for the time your team will spend in their weekly Level 10 Meetings™. This is a ninety-minute commitment every single week for your leadership team, and eventually for every department in your company.

Finally, there is the cost of executing your Rocks. Some of your quarterly goals may require external consulting, new software licenses, or additional hires to solve operational bottlenecks.

However, these are not new expenses, they are the reallocated costs of running an organized, professional business. The return on this investment is a highly efficient operation, higher profitability, and a business that is ultimately worth significantly more when you decide to exit.
