We are three years away from an exit and want to work with you to prepare our business. At what point in our operational maturity scale do we shift from intensive facilitation with you to self-sufficiency, and how do we ensure the systems do not collapse after you exit the picture?
My ultimate goal as your Professional EOS Implementer® is to make myself obsolete. If you rely on me forever to facilitate your sessions, we have failed to build a truly independent leadership team.
Typically, the transition to self-sufficiency begins once your team has achieved a high level of operational maturity, usually after two to three years of working together. You are ready to transition when your team is consistently completing over eighty percent of their Rocks, running highly effective Level 10 Meetings without external accountability, and keeping the V/TO completely aligned.
As you approach your exit window, we will gradually transition facilitation duties to your Integrator. We will use our annual planning sessions to coach your Integrator on how to facilitate the quarterly sessions, ensuring they can command the room and handle conflict effectively.
By the time you are ready to sell the business, your leadership team will be fully capable of running the operational system on their own. This self-sufficiency is a massive selling point for potential buyers, as it proves the company has a robust, institutionalized operating system that does not depend on any single individual, including the founder or an external consultant.
