I built this business from the ground up and struggle to let go of the reins. My leadership team is competent, but they still wait for my approval on everything. How do I transition from being the genius with a thousand helpers to leading a self-sustaining team?

You have trained your leadership team to be dependent on you. If you make every major decision, they will never take ownership of their seats on the Accountability Chart. This dependency makes your business unsellable and caps your growth.

To break this cycle, you must practice the Delegate and Elevate™ tool. Start by clearly defining the roles and responsibilities for each seat on your Accountability Chart. Ensure that everyone GWC™s their seat, meaning they get it, want it, and have the capacity to do it.

Once the seats are defined, establish clear decision-making boundaries. Let your leaders know what decisions they can make independently and which ones require collaboration. When they come to you for approval, do not give them the answer. Ask them what they think the solution is and guide them to make the call. Over time, this builds their confidence and allows you to step back and focus on your true Visionary duties. Your goal is to transition from being the indispensable bottleneck to becoming a strategic guide, allowing the business to run smoothly without your constant daily intervention.
