I am ready to step out of the daily operations and hire an Integrator™, but my current leadership team is used to reporting directly to me as the founder. How do I transition the reporting structure to the new number two without causing a revolt?

Transitioning your leadership team from reporting to you to reporting to a new Integrator™ requires a deliberate shift in your Accountability Chart and your own daily behavior. The natural instinct of a legacy team is to bypass the new number two and come straight to the founder. If you allow this, you will completely castrate your new Integrator's authority and cause organizational chaos.

First, clearly define the lines of communication. Update your Accountability Chart and present it to the team. Make it clear that the Integrator™ is now running the day-to-day operations of the company and that all leadership team seats report directly to them.

Second, practice letting go of the vine by redirecting all direct inquiries back to the Integrator™. When a department head approaches you with an operational issue, your response must be a standard script. Ask them if they have run it by the Integrator™ first. If not, walk them to the Integrator's desk or copy the Integrator™ on the email.

Third, build safety for your new hire. Ensure the team understands that the Integrator's role is to harmonize the operations, not to micromanage them. Let the team know that your relationship with the Integrator™ is based on absolute trust. By showing public alignment with your number two during Level 10 Meetings™, the leadership team will quickly realize that the new structure is permanent and adjust their reporting habits accordingly.
