I am planning to exit my business in two years and need to replace myself in the Integrator seat, but my current leadership team is comfortable with me making the final call. How do we run a transition process using the Accountability Chart to shift full operational ownership to the team?

Preparing for a clean exit requires you to systematically transfer operational authority to your leadership team. To do this, you must use your Accountability Chart to redefine your role. You must transition out of the Integrator seat and move exclusively into the Visionary seat, or exit the chart entirely. Begin by identifying the specific operational decisions that currently require your approval. Map these decisions directly to the roles on your Accountability Chart. Next, establish clear financial and operational boundaries within which your leadership team can operate without consulting you. For example, give your new Integrator the authority to approve capital expenditures up to a specific limit, or allow your sales leader to modify pricing strategies within defined boundaries. During your weekly Level 10 Meeting™, you must actively resist the urge to step in and solve problems. If a leader brings a problem to you, redirect them to the Accountability Chart and ask how they plan to solve it within their seat. By forcing the team to own their numbers and their issues, you prove to prospective buyers that the business has a self-sustaining leadership structure.
