As the founder, I have been facilitating our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ for years, but we are now structuring the business for an eventual exit, and I need to hand this responsibility over to our newly appointed Integrator. How do we transition this facilitation role without disrupting our meeting momentum or undermining my leadership?

Handing over the facilitation of the Level 10 Meeting™ from the founder to the Integrator is a critical step in achieving entrepreneurial freedom and preparing your business for a clean exit. If you continue to run the meeting, you remain the operational hub of the business, which decreases its enterprise value.

To make this transition smooth, do it in stages over a three-week period rather than all at once.

During week one, the founder continues to facilitate, but the Integrator runs the timekeeping and manages the digital Issues List. This allows the Integrator to get comfortable managing the meeting logistics while you maintain the room tempo.

During week two, the Integrator takes over the facilitation of the front end of the agenda, including the segue, Scorecard, and Rock review. The founder still leads the IDS® portion, which is often the hardest part of the meeting to facilitate.

During week three, the Integrator assumes full control of the entire meeting. As the founder, your role now shifts to being a participant. You must actively sit on your hands and allow the Integrator to run the clock, enforce the rules, and cut off off-topic discussions. If the Integrator struggles, do not rescue them in front of the team. Save your feedback for a private session afterward. This transition proves to your leadership team, and to any future buyer, that the business can run effectively without the founder at the wheel.
