We want our team to adopt AI to increase their productivity, but our managers are struggling to track whether employees are actually using these tools or just doing things the old manual way. How do we use our weekly Scorecard to measure AI adoption without micromanaging our people?
Do not fall into the trap of tracking tool logins or keystrokes. That is micromanagement, and it destroys trust. Instead, focus your weekly Scorecard on outcomes and efficiency metrics.
Look at your Accountability Chart and ensure each seat has clear, measurable measurables. If you prioritize using AI to increase employee productivity as a starting point, your Scorecard metrics must reflect that expected increase in capacity.
For example, if a marketing seat previously produced two campaigns a week, their new metric should be five campaigns a week. You do not need to track if they used AI to do it. The only way they can hit that higher number is by using the tools.
If they default to manual processes, they will miss their targets. This naturally brings the issue to light during your Level 10 Meeting™ without you having to spy on them.
If a team member consistently misses their targets, run it through the IDS® process. Evaluate if they have the GWC™ for their updated seat. If they do not want to use the technology to hit the new standard, they are simply in the wrong seat.
