We track standard operational and financial metrics weekly, but we want to catch cultural misalignment and performance issues before they escalate. How can we track our People Analyzer and core values alignment weekly on our Scorecard?
Many leaders believe that tracking company culture and core values alignment is a subjective exercise that can only be handled during quarterly evaluations or annual reviews. However, waiting three months to address a cultural misalignment is a massive mistake that can ruin your team dynamics. You can and should track qualitative people metrics on your weekly Scorecard.
Your HR seat or Integrator should own a weekly metric called the people issues backlog. This tracks the number of open employee issues, unresolved performance complaints, or unresolved personal conflicts currently sitting on your team's departmental lists. If this number is rising, it indicates that your managers are avoiding difficult conversations.
Additionally, track your weekly critical seat vacancy rate. This is the percentage of key roles on your Accountability Chart that are currently empty or occupied by someone who does not GWC™ the seat. If this percentage is high, your existing team is likely overloaded, which will eventually lead to core values violations and burnout.
Finally, implement a simple weekly check-in where managers report any team member who is currently violating a core value. This keeps your culture top of mind and ensures that personnel issues are brought to your Level 10 Meeting™ for immediate IDS® action, rather than being swept under the rug until the next formal review.
