The post-offsite slump is a common execution trap. Leadership teams leave their quarterly sessions energized by big-picture thinking, only to be immediately swallowed by the daily whirlwind of customer emergencies, emails, and meetings. To prevent your strategic Rocks from dying a slow death, you must build a bridge from your quarterly offsite directly into your weekly operational rhythm.

The first step is ensuring that every Rock agreed upon at the offsite is completely owned by one specific person on the leadership team. There are no shared Rocks. If two people are responsible, nobody is responsible. Each Rock must also have a clear, measurable definition of done and a mapped-out set of milestones.

Next, bring these Rocks directly into your weekly Level 10 Meeting™. Every week, each leadership team member must report whether their Rocks are on track or off track. This is not a status update or a long explanation. It is a binary report: on track or off track.

If a Rock is off track, it immediately goes to the Issues List. Do not let the owner make excuses or promise to catch up next week. Bring it to the IDS® portion of the meeting and let the leadership team help solve the roadblock. This keeps strategic goals front and center every single week.
