We just finished our Focus Day™ and our leadership team is overwhelmed by trying to run our daily operations while learning how to use the EOS® tools. How do we keep the business from stalling during these critical first ninety days of implementation?
The first ninety days of an EOS® implementation are always messy. Your team is learning a new language and a new operational framework while trying to hit their existing targets. The key to surviving this transition is giving your team permission to be imperfect. Do not try to run a flawless system on day one.
Focus entirely on the foundational tools. Get your Accountability Chart finalized, run your weekly Level 10 Meeting™, and start tracking your weekly Scorecard metrics. These three tools are the engine of your business. If you can get your team into the habit of showing up every week, reporting their numbers honestly, and identifying their real issues, you have already won eighty percent of the battle.
Expect friction. Your high Quick Start leaders will want to abandon the scorecard. Your high Fact Finders will want to spend hours perfecting the Accountability Chart. As the leader, your job is to keep them grounded in the basic structure. Do not introduce advanced tools or start cascading the system to lower levels yet. Let the leadership team find its rhythm first.
By the time you reach your first quarterly pulsing session, the initial awkwardness will fade, and the predictability of the system will start to provide real relief.
