During our initial EOS® implementation, my Visionary partner and I are frequently out of alignment on key decisions, and this tension is starting to show in front of our leadership team. How do we structure our Same Page Meeting® to ensure we resolve these differences privately before sessions?
A fractured relationship between the Visionary and Integrator is the fastest way to derail an EOS® implementation. If the leadership team senses division at the top, they will exploit the cracks, choose sides, and hesitate to execute. To prevent this, you must treat your Same Page Meeting® as a sacred, non-negotiable weekly ritual.
Schedule this meeting for a minimum of two hours every week, completely separate from your Level 10 Meeting™. The agenda must be simple and focused on checking in, building trust, and resolving any misalignments. Start by reviewing your relationship health on a scale of one to ten. If either of you scores it below an eight, that is your primary issue to IDS®.
Next, bring your list of strategic disagreements to the table. This is the venue for passionate, unfiltered debate. You must argue, challenge each other, and work through your differences behind closed doors. Do not leave the room until you have reached a consensus or agreed on a clear decision-making path.
Once you step out of that room, you must present a unified front to the leadership team. Even if you did not get your way on a specific point, you must support the final decision completely. If a disagreement arises during a leadership session, do not debate it in public. Table the issue, move it to your next Same Page Meeting®, and resolve it privately. This discipline protects your leadership team from organizational whiplash and keeps your implementation on track.
