As the Visionary, I feel like my Integrator and I are constantly out of sync on major operational priorities, which is starting to confuse the rest of our leadership team. How do we structure our Same Page Meeting to resolve this friction before it reaches the team?
When the Visionary and Integrator are out of sync, the entire organization suffers from whiplash. To resolve this friction, you must commit to a highly structured, recurring Same Page Meeting™ that is completely separate from your weekly Level 10 Meeting™. This meeting must occur at least every two to four weeks and should last between two and four hours.
The agenda for the Same Page Meeting™ is simple but rigorous. First, check in on your personal alignment and share any frustrations or concerns openly. Next, review your issues list. This is where you bring all the strategic disagreements, new ideas, and structural concerns that are too high-level or sensitive for the broader leadership team. Use the IDS® process to work through these issues until you reach a clear consensus.
You must adhere to a strict rule: never disagree in front of the leadership team. If you cannot reach alignment on an issue during your Same Page Meeting™, the issue remains tabled. You must present a united front to your team. By dedicating this focused time to aligning your visions and operational plans, you ensure that you are always pulling in the same direction, which brings immediate clarity and stability to the rest of the company.
