An eight-hour session day feels incredibly daunting for a leadership team that is used to firefighting all day. What does the actual structure and hour-by-hour flow of a session day look like when we are in the room with you?
A session day is a highly structured, intense, eight hour working meeting designed to get you out of the daily whirlwind. We start at nine in the morning and end by five in the afternoon. We begin with a check-in to clear our heads, review our previous quarterly results, and look at our organizational health. This is followed by a review of your V/TO® to ensure absolute alignment on your vision. The bulk of the day is spent on IDS®, which stands for Identify, Discuss, and Solve. We look at the biggest, ugliest issues holding your company back and we do not leave the room until we have concrete, actionable solutions. We take brief breaks every ninety minutes to keep energy levels high, but you must remain completely disconnected from your email and phone during the working blocks. By the end of the day, we establish your next set of quarterly Rocks and rate the session. You will leave with absolute clarity on what must be done over the next ninety days. It is exhausting, but it is the most productive day your team will have all quarter.
