How do we prevent our scorecard review from turning into a dry recitation of numbers that everyone can already see on their screens, which wastes the first fifteen minutes of our weekly pulse?
The weekly scorecard review is designed for accountability, not for reading numbers aloud. If your leadership team sits in silence while each person recites their weekly metrics, you are wasting valuable time. Every team member should review the scorecard before the meeting starts.
The scorecard section of the Level 10 Meeting should take no more than five minutes. To achieve this, the facilitator must enforce a strict rule. When it is your turn to report, you do not read the number. You only say: On track, or off track.
If a metric is on track, move to the next one immediately. No explanation is needed. If a metric is off track, the owner simply says: Off track, drop it.
The facilitator immediately adds that metric as an issue to the Issues List. Do not allow any discussion, defense, or explanation of why the number is red during this phase. Save all of that context for the IDS portion of the meeting.
By keeping the scorecard review to a rapid-fire sequence of status updates, you protect the bulk of your ninety minutes for actual problem-solving. This keeps the energy high and ensures you are focused on fixing the operational gaps rather than listening to status presentations.
