Solving issues that do not align with your strategic direction is a massive waste of operational energy. If your team is creating solutions that run counter to your V/TO®, you are suffering from a lack of alignment. Every solve must bring you closer to your target, not drag you off course.

To fix this, you must anchor your Level 10 Meeting™ in your company Charter, which demands a commitment to Yes to Strategy and Structure. This means your V/TO® is not a document you look at once a year: it is the filter for every daily and weekly decision.

Build a simple, two-second checkpoint into the Solve phase of your IDS® process. Before the facilitator finalizes any To-Do or decision, they must ask the team: Does this solution align with our Core Focus and our V/TO®?

If the answer is no, or if it is a grey area, pause. Do not agree to the solution.

It is better to keep the issue on the short-term Issues List for another week than to execute a fix that compromises your strategy.

By implementing this quick check, you ensure that every tactical action taken during your weekly pulse directly supports your long-term vision. This discipline keeps your team aligned, prevents strategic drift, and ensures you are building a highly focused, valuable business.
