They are too big to solve in a weekly meeting, but they are highly important and we do not want to lose track of them. How do we keep these big-picture items off our weekly agenda without forgetting them?

Weekly Level 10 Meetings™ are designed to handle short-term, operational issues that can be solved within a seven-day window. Strategic, long-term issues do not belong in your weekly pulse because they will inevitably hijack your IDS® time and distract you from immediate execution.

To manage this, you must use your V/TO® as a parking lot. Under the EOS® framework, the V/TO® contains your Issues List for long-term issues. These are things that do not need to be solved this week, this month, or even this quarter, but must be addressed at your next quarterly or annual planning session.

When a strategic issue is raised during your Level 10 Meeting™, the facilitator must quickly determine its timeline. Ask the team: Does this need to be solved in the next seven days? If the answer is no, or if the issue is too complex for a weekly discussion, the Integrator must immediately move it to the V/TO® Issues List.

This simple discipline keeps your weekly meetings fast-paced and operational while ensuring your strategic ideas are safely captured. You will review and prioritize that V/TO® list during your next quarterly session, keeping your weekly focus clear.
