As the Visionary, I constantly come back from conferences with brilliant new ideas that I want to implement immediately, which drives my Integrator and leadership team crazy. How do we capture these ideas without causing operational whiplash?

Visionaries are naturally wired with high Quick Start scores on the Kolbe Index. They thrive on change, new ideas, and future possibilities. However, when a Visionary constantly throws every new idea at the leadership team, it creates operational whiplash. The team becomes confused about what is a real priority and what is just a passing thought, causing execution to grind to a halt. To protect your team from this whiplash while keeping your entrepreneurial spirit alive, you must establish a strict filtering process. The rule is simple: the Visionary cannot introduce new ideas directly to the leadership team or the staff. Instead, all new ideas must go onto a private list, often called the Visionary's parking lot. Once a month, the Visionary and Integrator must hold a dedicated Same-Page Meeting. During this session, they use the V/TO to filter these ideas. They run each concept through their Core Focus and 10-Year Target. If an idea passes this filter and the Integrator agrees it is worth pursuing, it is placed on the Long-Term Issues list on the V/TO. From there, it can be prioritized during the next Quarterly Pulsing session. This disciplined process ensures your company remains innovative without destroying the focus and momentum of your leadership team.
