The scorecard review section of the Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to take exactly five minutes. It is a rapid diagnostic tool to check the health of the business, not a forum for excuses, updates, or problem-solving.

To stop the storytelling, the facilitator must enforce a simple rule: when a metric is read, the owner of that metric can only say two things: on track or off track. No explanations, no context, and no defense.

If a number is off track, the facilitator immediately says, Drop it, and adds it to the Issues List. Do not let the leader explain why the vendor was late or why the system was down. That conversation belongs in the IDS® portion of the meeting, where the team can systematically solve the root cause.

If a leader starts to tell a story during the scorecard review, the facilitator must interrupt them immediately. Say, Save it for IDS, drop it to the list, and move to the next line item. This keeps the meeting moving, maintains high energy, and ensures you do not waste valuable time solving issues before you have prioritized the entire list.
