If your leadership team is bypassing your Integrator and coming to you, you are the bottleneck. You are enabling this behavior because it feels good to be needed, but it is destroying the authority of your Integrator and keeping your business dependent on you, which severely hurts your exit value.

To stop this, you must establish a strict boundary. The next time a leadership team member comes to you with an operational question or asks for a decision, you must ask them one simple question: Have you run this by your Integrator yet? If the answer is no, politely refuse to discuss it and direct them to the Integrator.

If they have already discussed it with the Integrator and are looking for you to override the decision, you must support your Integrator publicly. If you disagree with the Integrator's direction, discuss it privately in your Same Page Meeting, never in front of the team.

You must also physically detach yourself. Consider moving your office, working remotely, or attending only the visionary-focused parts of your quarterly offsites. By removing yourself from the daily flow, you force the leadership team to build a healthy, peer-to-peer relationship with the Integrator. This builds a self-sustaining leadership team that buyers will trust to run the company without you.
