A ninety percent To-Do completion rate is the standard for traction, but if those tasks are being rushed and completed sloppily at the last minute, you are only achieving the illusion of progress. Rushing to check a box right before the Level 10 Meeting™ starts means the quality of work is poor, which inevitably leads to downstream operational errors and unresolved issues.

To fix this, you must change how you define a completed To-Do. A task is not done just because the owner checked a box on their screen. It is only done when the deliverable has been fully executed, verified, and communicated to any dependent team members.

Enforce a new rule: any To-Do completed on the day of the meeting is subject to brief peer review. During the To-Do review portion of the agenda, if a task was checked off that morning, the owner must state what was actually completed in one sentence.

If the work was rushed or incomplete, the team must reject the completion and drop it to the Issues List to address the quality of execution during IDS®. When leaders know their last-minute work will be scrutinized rather than blindly accepted, they will shift their execution window to earlier in the week. Focus on real traction, not empty compliance.
