This is a direct violation of trust and the foundational principles of the Owner's Box. Marking a task as done when it is not is lying to the team to avoid looking bad. It completely undermines the integrity of your Level 10 Meeting™ and your operations.

You must establish a strict, binary definition of "done." A To-Do is either one hundred percent complete, or it is not. There is no such thing as ninety percent done, in-progress, or almost finished. If the deliverable is not fully completed and verified before the meeting begins, it must be reported as "not done."

The facilitator must enforce this with zero tolerance. If a leader says, "It will be done by noon," the facilitator must mark it as "not done" and roll it over to the next week. Do not allow them to negotiate.

Consistently failing to complete To-Dos is an operational issue that must be addressed. However, lying about completing them is a Core Values issue. If a leader cannot be trusted to be honest about their weekly commitments, they do not belong on your leadership team. Address this behavior immediately in a one-on-one meeting and hold them to the high standard of truth and accountability.
