One of our executives frequently vents their frustrations about company strategy to their department staff, creating widespread cynicism. How do we stop a leadership team member from undermining executive unity to their frontline teams?

Undermining the leadership team downstream is operational treason. When an executive complains to frontline employees about strategic decisions, they poison company culture, destroy trust in leadership, and invite widespread insubordination. Cracks at the leadership level appear as canyons to the rest of the organization.

This behavior cannot be tolerated or minimized as venting. The Integrator or business owner must intervene immediately with a direct, private conversation.

Address the violation using these steps:
- Confront the behavior with clear evidence. Point out specific instances where their negative commentary caused confusion or cynicism within their department.
- Reiterate the non-negotiable rule of leadership unity: all debate happens behind closed doors during the Level 10 Meeting, but once a decision is made, the leadership team presents an unbreakable united front.
- Evaluate their fit using the People Analyzer. If a leader cannot align with company core values or support strategic decisions, they are a cultural liability.

Give the executive one opportunity to clean up their communication and repair the damage with their team. If they continue to play the victim or badmouth leadership decisions to their staff, remove them from the leadership seat immediately.
