Technology is a means to an end, not the end itself. If your leadership team is spending more time arguing about AI architecture than hitting their goals, you have lost your focus. You need to use the EOS® framework to get back on track.

Start by revisiting your V/TO®. Your strategic plan should dictate your technology, not the other way around. Look at your 1-Year Plan and your quarterly Rocks. Every technology initiative must directly support these targets. If an AI project does not help you achieve a Rock, kill it or shelve it.

Next, check your Accountability Chart. Ensure you have the right people in the right seats to make technology decisions. Your operations leaders should define the operational problems, and your tech leaders should find the tools. Do not let the tech team drive the business strategy.

Shift leadership behavior from telling people how to use technology to articulating a vision and strategic plan. Empower your teams to figure out how they will achieve those goals with AI assistance.
