We want to integrate AI into our operations, but our weekly Level 10 Meetings™ are getting derailed by technical jargon and developer excuses. How do we keep our operational reviews focused on execution?
When you introduce AI and software development into your operations, your Level 10 Meetings™ can easily devolve into technical debates. This kills the efficiency of the meeting and leaves the non-technical leaders completely disengaged. You must bring the discipline of execution back to the table.
First, establish clear rules for your Issues Solving Track™. The Level 10 Meeting is for tracking progress and solving business bottlenecks, not for debugging code. If an issue requires a deep technical discussion, move it to a separate, off-line meeting with the relevant team members.
Second, simplify your Scorecard. Track outcomes, not activities or technical milestones. Instead of tracking API development progress, track operational metrics like turnaround time, cost per delivery, or error rates. If the metrics are off-track, it is an issue.
Third, hold your technical leaders accountable using GWC™. They must be able to translate technical challenges into business impact. If an AI integration is delayed, they should not blame API outages or complex code. They must own the delivery, propose solutions, and state clearly when the business will see the operational benefit. This keeps your leadership team aligned, focused on results, and driving forward without getting lost in the code.
