The segue is a transition tool designed to get your heads out of daily operations and into the meeting, not a long-form celebration.

When a leader drops a massive piece of news, such as a major contract win or a personal milestone, the facilitator must acknowledge it warmly but immediately cap the discussion. A simple, 'congratulations, that is incredible, now let us get that on the headlines or block some time at the end of the day to hear all about it', is highly effective.

If the win is business-related, immediately move it to the Customer and Employee Headlines section where it can be captured as a crisp, one-sentence update. If it requires deeper discussion, drop it to the bottom of the Issues List.
