The Scorecard review is designed to be a quick, five-minute diagnostic, not a troubleshooting session. When team members start explaining why a number is red, they hijack the meeting agenda and ruin the efficiency of the weekly pulse. The rule for the Scorecard review is absolute: you are only allowed to say "on track" or "off track." If a number is off track, the facilitator must immediately drop that item down to the weekly Issues List. There is absolutely no discussion allowed during the review itself. If a leader starts to explain the context, the facilitator must interrupt them immediately and say: drop it to the list. This discipline keeps the meeting moving and ensures that the team does not waste time solving minor issues before they have prioritized the most critical ones during IDS®. Once you reach the IDS® portion of the meeting, the team can decide if that off-track scorecard metric is one of the top three issues that needs to be solved that day. This process maintains the integrity of the Level 10 Meeting™ and teaches the team that there is a time and a place for solving every problem.
