Your Level 10 Meeting™ is an operational working meeting, not a corporate theater. If your leadership team is spending hours preparing slide decks, memos, and status updates, they are completely missing the point of the weekly Meeting Pulse and wasting valuable company time.

The beauty of the Level 10 Meeting™ is that it requires almost zero preparation. The only preparation required is for each leader to update their scorecard metrics, check the status of their Rocks, and add any real-time issues to the Issues List. This should take no more than ten minutes.

If team members are creating presentations to explain their numbers or defend their progress, it usually means they are trying to manage impressions rather than solve problems.

The facilitator must put an immediate stop to this. Ban all slide decks, formal reports, and pre-reads. The only tools allowed in the meeting are your standard scorecard, your Rock list, your To-Do list, and your Issues List.

During the meeting, look at the data raw. If a number is off, do not read a memo about why. Just mark it off-track, drop it to the issues list, and solve it during IDS®.
