If we do not currently have a clean, dedicated Integrator seat filled on our Accountability Chart, should we postpone starting our formal engagement with you?
You do not need a perfect, permanently filled Accountability Chart to begin working with me, but you must have someone designated to sit in the Integrator seat from day one. Postponing your engagement because your leadership team structure is incomplete is a mistake. The very process of implementing the system is what will help you clarify this role and identify the right person for it.
In many entrepreneurial companies, the owner is currently occupying both the Visionary and the Integrator seats. While this is not a sustainable long term setup for scaling or preparing for a clean exit, it is a perfectly acceptable starting point. During our first sessions, we will map out your Accountability Chart to define exactly what your Integrator seat requires, including the necessary responsibilities, metrics, and GWC criteria.
What you cannot do is start without accountability. If you do not have someone willing to take temporary ownership of the Integrator responsibilities, which include driving execution, harmonizing the leadership team, and managing the weekly Level 10 Meeting cadence, then we are not ready to begin. If the owner or another leader is ready to step into that seat temporarily and do the work, we should start immediately. We will use the system to build the structure that eventually allows you to recruit or promote the perfect permanent Integrator.
