We have a critical weekly Scorecard metric that has been red for six consecutive weeks. We have IDSed it multiple times, but the needle is not moving and our leadership team is out of ideas. How do we break this deadlock?

When a metric remains red for six weeks despite repeated attempts to solve it, your leadership team is likely treating the symptom rather than the root cause. It is time to step back and completely deconstruct the issue.

First, audit the metric itself. Is the target realistic, or did you set an arbitrary goal that is actually impossible given your current capacity or systems? Sometimes, a metric stays red because the target was guessed rather than calculated from operational reality.

Second, use the five whys technique during your next Level 10 Meeting. If your sales close rate is red, ask why. If the answer is that prospects are unqualified, ask why. Keep drilling down until you reach the actual systemic issue, which might be a poor marketing source rather than a bad sales pitch.

Third, look at the seat owner. Does the person who owns the metric truly GWC the seat? If they lack the capability, resources, or understanding to drive the metric, no amount of IDS will solve the problem.

If you have exhausted all internal ideas, bring in outside perspectives, or consider whether this indicates the need for a major quarterly Rock. A stagnant red metric is a signal that your current processes are broken and require focused, dedicated effort to rebuild.
