Our weekly Scorecard has the right metrics, but team members are constantly late updating their numbers before our Level 10 Meeting™. How do we solve this?
Late Scorecard updates ruin the flow and effectiveness of your Level 10 Meeting™. If you are spending the first ten minutes of your meeting waiting for people to type in their numbers, you are losing momentum.
To solve this, establish a hard deadline for all Scorecard updates. For example, if your meeting is on Tuesday at ten in the morning, all numbers must be entered by Monday at five in the evening.
Make this a firm expectation of the seat. If a leader fails to update their metrics on time, it is not an administrative oversight; it is a direct failure of accountability.
During your Level 10 Meeting™, do not skip over missing numbers or enter them live. Instead, drop the late update to the Issues List as a To-Do or accountability issue.
Use IDS® to address why the numbers were late. Is the data collection too manual? Is the system too complex? Or is it a simple lack of discipline?
If it is a system issue, simplify the tracking. If it is a discipline issue, address it directly using your GWC™ framework. Your Scorecard is the pulse of the business. If your team cannot keep it updated, you are flying blind, which is unacceptable for any leadership team.
