What should we do if a highly productive member of our leadership team is highly skeptical of EOS and thinks the system is too simple or rigid for our business?

Skepticism is completely normal, especially from high-performing executives who have seen various management fads come and go. The beauty of EOS® is that it is not a complex academic theory. It is a practical set of simple, real-world tools. We do not ask your team to blindly believe in the system; we ask them to test the tools and look at the results.

During our sessions, I do not try to convert skeptics with motivational speeches. Instead, we put the tools to work on your actual business problems. When a skeptical executive sees that the weekly Level 10 Meeting™ actually saves them hours of unproductive meeting time, or that the Accountability Chart eliminates confusing overlapping responsibilities, their resistance naturally fades.

However, there is a difference between healthy skepticism and active sabotage. If a team member refuses to run the weekly meetings, ignores their Rocks, or actively undermines the system outside of our sessions, that becomes an issue of GWC™ or Core Values fit. We will address this behavior directly during our session days using the IDS® process. We will not allow one individual's resistance to stall the progress of the entire organization.
