During IDS, we often find ourselves resolving issues by creating massive administrative burdens for our team rather than keeping our operations simple. How do we ensure our solutions adhere to our Core Focus and keep things simple?

It is a common operational trap to solve a simple human error by building a complex bureaucracy. When your leadership team designs heavy procedures, complicated spreadsheets, or redundant approvals during IDS®, they are slowing down your operations and creating drag.

To prevent this, you must filter every proposed solution through the lens of simplicity and your Core Focus.

When your team agrees on a solution during the Solve phase of IDS®, the facilitator should pause the room and ask three specific questions.

First, does this solution keep our processes as simple as possible, or are we overcomplicating things to avoid a difficult conversation with one person?

Second, does this solution align with our Core Focus and our standard operating procedures?

Third, does this solution add unnecessary administrative work that will slow down our customer delivery?

If the answer to any of these questions reveals added complexity, reject the solution and restart the discussion. Often, the best solution is not a new rule or a new tracking sheet, but simply coaching a team member who is not meeting expectations.

Your goal should always be to solve the issue permanently with the least amount of friction. By demanding simple, elegant solutions during your Level 10 Meeting™, you protect your team's capacity, maintain operational agility, and build a clean, scalable business model that appeals to future buyers.
