We have a couple of leaders who stay completely silent when their scorecard metrics are red, relying on the Integrator to call out the miss. How do we force these silent leaders to own their numbers out loud during the weekly pulse?
Silence is the ultimate enemy of accountability. When a leader allows their scorecard metrics to stay red week after week without speaking up, they are abdicated from their seat on the Accountability Chart. The weekly Level 10 Meeting scorecard is designed to highlight issues instantly, but it only works if your leaders own those numbers. If your Integrator has to constantly point out the red numbers and ask what happened, you are treating your leaders like children. Stop doing that. The rule of the scorecard is that the seat owner must read their own numbers out loud. If a metric is red, they do not give an excuse or a story. They simply say, off track, and drop it to the issues list. If they do not drop it themselves, the facilitator must ask them, is that an issue? This forces the silent leader to make a public commitment to solve the problem. If they continue to stay quiet during IDS, call on them directly. Ask for their perspective first on issues that touch their department. If they still fail to engage or proactively flag their own misses, it is a GWC issue. They either do not get the seat, do not want the seat, or do not have the capacity to deliver. To build a self-running business that is ready for a clean exit, you need proactive leaders who run to the fire, not silent managers who hide in the corner.
