Our Integrator has been facilitating our Level 10 Meetings, but they struggle to maintain neutrality when operational issues in their own departments are being discussed. Should we rotate the facilitator role among other leadership team members to solve this bias?

While the Integrator is the logical choice to facilitate the Level 10 Meeting™, they are also responsible for the execution of the entire business. This dual role can create a significant conflict of interest. When an issue touches the Integrator's direct responsibilities, they can easily slip from a neutral process manager into a defensive participant, which shuts down healthy debate and peer-to-peer accountability.

Rotating the facilitator seat is a common trap that usually degrades meeting discipline. Different leaders bring different styles, and rotating often leads to a dilution of the strict Level 10 agenda and timing. Instead of rotating weekly, you should identify one other leadership team member who has the specific natural talent for facilitation.

This person must be highly organized, objective, and comfortable interrupting others, including the owner or Integrator, to keep the meeting on schedule. Once you select this designated facilitator, keep them in the seat consistently. This allows them to master the pacing and build the confidence to police the boundary between sharing information and IDS®.

During the meeting, when a topic requires the facilitator to share their own deep operational expertise, they must explicitly state that they are stepping out of the facilitator role for a moment to participate. Once their input is delivered, they step back into the facilitator role to guide the process. This maintains consistency and protects meeting integrity.
