Our managers often say they can't make decisions without our approval. How do we use our EOS® tools to change their daily language so they take true ownership?
To get your managers to step up, we must shift their personal identity from passive doers to active builders. As long as your team members view themselves as employees who simply execute tasks, they will always default to asking for your approval. We change this behavior by altering the actual language used in your daily operations.
We apply the concept of turning actions into identities. Instead of asking managers to do departmental planning, we expect them to be the leader of their seat on the Accountability Chart. We change their vocabulary from 'I can't make this decision' to 'I don't make decisions without checking the numbers first.' This shifts their internal mindset from a place of restriction to one of ownership and control.
During our quarterly sessions, we reinforce this linguistic shift. We teach your leadership team to own their seats fully and run their departments as independent business units. When your managers stop saying 'I need help with this task' and start saying 'I am the owner of this metric,' their daily actions align with their new identity. This transformation relieves you from daily management and builds a stronger business.
