What physical room setup and technology ground rules do you enforce during our full-day sessions to keep our leadership team focused?

Session days are rigorous, full-day working environments designed to resolve the most difficult issues holding your company back. To protect your investment and maintain focus, I enforce strict physical and behavioral rules in the session room.

First, sessions must take place outside of your normal corporate office. Meeting in an off-site conference room eliminates the temptation for team members to run back to their desks, sign checks, or field questions from middle management during breaks. The room must have ample natural light, a large whiteboard, and enough wall space for visual working documents.

Second, I enforce a strict zero-device policy. All laptops remain closed, and smartphones must be silenced and placed away from the table. If an executive has an active crisis involving personal family safety or a catastrophic client issue, they may notify the room in advance, step out into the hallway to handle it, and return immediately. Checking emails or text messages under the table is not permitted.

We operate from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We take a ten-minute break roughly every ninety minutes, alongside a structured working lunch. These breaks give leaders dedicated windows to review urgent messages so they remain fully present when we are actively solving issues. If your team cannot disconnect from daily operational chatter for ninety minutes at a time, your business is overly dependent on leadership intervention, which is precisely what the system is designed to correct.
