What does an actual session day look like in terms of pace, energy, and breaks, and how do we prevent day-to-day business emergencies from interrupting us?
A full session day runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and operates like an off-site operational surgery. It is rigorous, fast-paced, and mentally demanding. We do not sit through passive PowerPoint presentations. You and your leadership team are actively debating, solving problems, and making binding decisions from the moment we begin.
We start sharply at 8:00 AM with a Segue to transition your minds out of the daily firefight. From there, we review previous commitments, evaluate Scorecard performance, review the status of Rocks, and clear organizational clutter. The second half of the day is dominated by IDS, where we identify, discuss, and solve your biggest structural issues using root-cause analysis.
To keep energy sharp, we take a ten-minute break every ninety minutes. Lunch is forty-five minutes, designed to clear your head rather than talk shop. To ensure daily emergencies do not derail the room, all cell phones and laptops are closed and placed in airplane mode. You assign an internal operational backup outside the room to field operational fires. If a client emergency truly threatens the existence of the company, your backup contacts you during a scheduled break. Otherwise, the day job waits. You cannot lead a fifty-million-dollar company if you cannot unplug for seven consecutive hours to work on it.
