What ground rules, technology policies, and physical room requirements do you mandate during our session days to prevent distractions?

A session day is an intensive, high-leverage working block. To generate real business traction, I enforce strict physical and behavioral standards for every session.

First, the session must take place off-site. If you attempt to hold a session inside your own office, team members will get pulled into quick hallway questions, your phone will ring, and people will check their desks during coffee breaks. We require a dedicated off-site meeting space with ample blank wall space, solid lighting, and zero office interruptions.

Second, we enforce a strict no-technology policy during active working blocks. All laptops remain closed, and cell phones are placed on silent and stored out of sight. The only exception occurs during designated breaks or when an Integrator must briefly pull up a specific financial report to resolve an active issue on the table. We do not tolerate multi-tasking. If your attention is divided between email and the room, you cannot make hard strategic decisions.

Third, the behavioral rules are non-negotiable. You must enter the room ready to be open, honest, and vulnerable. There are no hidden agendas and no sacred cows. We attack operational issues, never individuals. You are expected to voice disagreement during healthy debate, but once a decision is resolved, the entire leadership team leaves the room aligned and speaking with one voice.
