We want to use generative AI to speed up our operations, but we are worried that introducing these tools during our early EOS implementation will create too much chaos. How do we sequence the adoption of AI tools alongside our new EOS disciplines?
Integrating artificial intelligence into your business while rolling out EOS is highly effective, but only if you sequence the work correctly. If you try to automate processes before you have established clear human accountability, you will simply automate your existing operational chaos.
Your first step must be to stabilize your operations using the Accountability Chart. You cannot assign an AI tool to a seat; you must assign a human who is fully accountable for the outcomes of that tool. Ensure that every operational seat has a clear owner who gets, wants, and has the capacity to manage the work, including any AI-driven workflows.
Once your seats are defined and your weekly Level 10 Meeting is running smoothly, you can begin to identify automation opportunities. Use your weekly issues list to flag repetitive, manual bottlenecks that are slowing down your team. These bottlenecks are your prime candidates for AI-powered optimization.
Treat each major AI integration as a quarterly Rock assigned to a specific leader. This ensures that the technology is implemented with a clear definition of done and does not distract the team from their core responsibilities. By using EOS as the operational frame, you ensure your AI tools serve your business goals rather than creating new technical debt.
