Our Integrator is excellent at keeping our weekly scorecard updated and structured, but whenever they are on vacation or traveling, our scorecard data collection falls apart and we run our meeting blind. How do we build a resilient scorecard system that does not rely on a single person to compile the data?
A business that depends on a single person to maintain its core operating data is highly vulnerable. If your scorecard updates grind to a halt when your Integrator is away, you have an accountability gap that will raise red flags for future buyers.
To build a resilient scorecard system, you must decentralize the data entry process. The Integrator's role is to ensure the scorecard is updated, not to actually input the data for every seat. Each leadership team member must be fully responsible for updating their own metrics.
Establish a hard weekly deadline for all scorecard updates, such as twenty-four hours before your scheduled Level 10 Meeting. This gives the Integrator, or a designated meeting coordinator, time to review the sheet and identify any missing numbers before the session begins.
Each seat owner must also document a simple back-up process for their metrics. If a leadership team member is out of the office, their designated second-in-command on the Accountability Chart must know how to pull the data and update the scorecard. This simple practice ensures your leadership team always runs on complete, real-time data, regardless of who is out of the office.
