My team members frequently show up to our Level 10 Meeting™ with their Scorecard cells blank, updating their numbers in real-time on their screens while the meeting is starting. How do we put an end to this lack of preparation and enforce a hard deadline for data entry?

Showing up to a Level 10 Meeting with blank Scorecard cells is a clear sign of poor discipline. It means your team is treating the meeting as a status update rather than a tool for operational execution.

To solve this issue, you must establish a hard deadline for data entry. All weekly numbers must be fully updated at least one hour before the meeting begins. This gives the Integrator and the rest of the team time to review the data and prepare their minds for the session.

If a leader fails to update their numbers by the deadline, their cell must remain blank or red during the meeting. The facilitator should not allow them to type in the numbers during the review.

Instead, that blank space must immediately be dropped to the active issues list. During the IDS portion, you must discuss why the number was not entered on time.

The discussion should focus on personal accountability and time management. It is not about micromanaging their daily schedule. It is about protecting the integrity of your data.

When team members are forced to explain their lack of preparation during IDS, they will quickly realize that updating the Scorecard on time is far easier than defending their disorganization to the entire leadership team.
