We are struggling to define the weekly measurables for our creative and qualitative roles on the weekly Scorecard during our initial rollout. How do we establish meaningful numbers for positions that do not have obvious quantitative outputs?

Every single seat on your Accountability Chart has a measurable output that can be tracked on a weekly basis, even the highly creative or qualitative ones. The belief that certain roles cannot be quantified is a misconception that breeds unaccountability.

To find the right numbers for these seats, look for the activity-based leading indicators that drive their success. For a creative role, like a designer or copywriter, do not just track subjective quality; track velocity, volume, and deadlines. Your measurables could be the percentage of projects delivered on time, the number of creative briefs completed, or the turnaround time on revisions.

For support or qualitative roles, look at customer satisfaction scores, response times, or process adherence rates. If a seat is responsible for brand reputation, track weekly positive mentions or reviews.

Remember that a Scorecard measurable is designed to give you an early warning when something is off track. If a creative person is falling behind on their draft delivery times, it acts as a leading indicator that a project deadline will be missed. By tracking these numbers weekly, you can solve the bottlenecks in your Level 10 Meeting™ long before they impact your clients or your bottom line.
