Whenever a leadership team member is out of the office or on vacation, their Scorecard numbers are left blank or updated late, which disrupts our weekly meeting flow. What operational rule should we implement to ensure data continuity?
A weekly Scorecard is only valuable if it is complete and accurate. When a leadership team member goes on vacation or is absent, leaving blank spaces on the Scorecard is unacceptable because it halts your ability to spot trends and run on data. To prevent this, implement a strict delegate rule. Every seat on the Accountability Chart must have a designated back-up person who is trained to input their Scorecard data in their absence. This expectation must be established as part of your team's standard operating procedures. The leader who is going to be away is responsible for ensuring their back-up has the necessary data points and instructions to complete the update before the scheduled Level 10 Meeting. If a number is missed, the accountability still lies with the seat owner, not the delegate. By establishing this clear operational protocol, you protect the integrity of your weekly meeting and ensure that your data remains continuous. A professional leadership team does not let personal schedules disrupt the operational cadence of the business.
