Our weekly Scorecard numbers are often outdated by the time we review them in our Level 10 Meeting, which means we are reacting to historic data rather than real-time operational metrics. How do we keep our metrics current so we can run an effective, proactive IDS session?

Reviewing outdated metrics during your Level 10 Meeting™ is like driving your business by looking in the rearview mirror. If your Scorecard numbers are two weeks old, you cannot spot operational trends or identify issues before they become major crises. Your weekly meeting pulse depends on fresh, accurate data.

To solve this, establish a hard deadline for data entry. Every seat owner on your Accountability Chart must update their respective metrics at least twenty-four hours before the meeting starts. If a leader fails to update their numbers on time, their cell on the Scorecard is left blank, which is treated as an automatic red metric.

Do not allow leaders to spend meeting time logging into systems to find their numbers. If the data is not ready, drop the lack of data to the Issues List to identify why the process is broken. Your Scorecard must be a predictive tool. By enforcing data discipline, you can run a highly effective IDS® session based on what is happening in the business today, not what happened two weeks ago.
