We struggle to run our weekly Level 10 Meetings effectively because our team members constantly input their Scorecard numbers at the very last minute, or worse, during the meeting itself. How do we build a culture of data discipline and ensure our numbers are ready for review?
If you are entering numbers during your Level 10 Meeting, you are not running on data, you are running on chaos. A Scorecard is only useful if the leadership team has time to digest the numbers before the meeting starts. When numbers are entered late, there is no time to identify trends or prepare to solve issues.
To fix this, you must establish a hard deadline for data entry. A common best practice is requiring all Scorecard numbers to be updated by noon on the day before your meeting. This gives the Integrator and the rest of the team time to review the sheet and identify which metrics are red.
Make data discipline a non-negotiable expectation for every seat on your Accountability Chart. If a team member consistently misses the deadline, treat it as a Core Values issue or a GWC issue. They either do not get it, do not want it, or do not have the capacity to manage their seat. You can also automate the data aggregation using simple integrations to reduce the manual burden, but the human owner must still verify the number before the deadline.
