As we roll out EOS®, the relationship between our Visionary and Integrator is becoming strained because the boundaries of their respective seats are still blurry. How do we use the Samepage Meeting™ to resolve this tension before it derails our implementation?

The relationship between the Visionary and the Integrator is the most critical partnership in any company running on EOS®. When this relationship is strained, the tension filters down to the entire organization, stalling your implementation. Blurry boundaries are completely normal in the early stages, but they must be addressed proactively.

The Samepage Meeting™ is your primary tool for maintaining alignment. This is a private, weekly or bi-weekly meeting where the Visionary and Integrator step out of the daily business to get on the same page. It is not an operational meeting; it is an alignment check.

To resolve boundary issues, start by reviewing your Accountability Chart during your Samepage Meeting™. Walk through the specific roles and responsibilities of both the Visionary seat and the Integrator seat. If the Visionary is bypassing the Integrator and giving direct instructions to department heads, call it out. If the Integrator is making major strategic moves without consulting the Visionary, address it.

Use this time to identify, discuss, and solve any friction points between your roles. You must maintain a united front. If you disagree on a strategy or a people decision, you must debate it privately behind closed doors. Once you step out of the Samepage Meeting™, you must present a single, aligned direction to the leadership team. Consistent Samepage Meetings build the trust needed to keep both seats operating in perfect harmony.
