Canceling a Level 10 Meeting™ because the Integrator is absent is a major failure of leadership discipline. The weekly meeting pulse is the heartbeat of your organization, and it must occur on the same day, at the same time, using the same agenda, regardless of who is missing. If your meeting depends entirely on one person to exist, your business is not scalable and you are not ready for a clean exit.

To fix this, you must designate a backup facilitator. This is typically another member of the leadership team who is fully capable of running the meeting agenda. Before the Integrator leaves, the backup facilitator must be ready to step in and run the meeting exactly as written.

The team must review the scorecard, check the status of Rocks, share headlines, review to-dos, and run IDS® just as they would on any other week. If an issue arises that absolutely requires the Integrator's input, simply leave that specific issue on the list for the following week, but solve all the other operational bottlenecks in the room. Operating with this level of discipline proves that your leadership team can run the business independently, which is exactly what a potential buyer wants to see.
