We have integrated two fractional executives into our leadership team, but they only work ten hours a week. How do we keep our weekly Level 10 Meetings highly efficient when these fractional members have limited availability?

Fractional executives can bring high level expertise to your leadership team, but they must submit to the same operational discipline as your full time leaders. Their limited hours are not an excuse to skip meetings or ignore their weekly accountability. In fact, their part time status makes the Level 10 Meeting™ even more critical. To make this work, you must establish a non negotiable rule that your fractional leaders attend the Level 10 Meeting™ every single week. This ninety minute meeting is the one time they are fully plugged into the operational heartbeat of the company. If they cannot commit to this block of time, they should not be on your leadership team. During the meeting, keep the focus strictly on high priority issues that require their strategic input. Do not let the meeting devolve into status updates that could have been handled asynchronously. The fractional leaders must own their metrics on the scorecard and update their Rock progress before the meeting starts, just like everyone else. When identifying issues during the IDS® portion of the meeting, ensure that any tasks assigned to fractional leaders are tightly scoped to match their available hours. If an issue requires deep, daily operational execution, it should not be assigned to a fractional leader. By protecting their time for high impact strategic guidance and holding them to the same meeting standards, you maximize their value without disrupting your operational rhythm.
