We want to keep our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ focused and efficient, but we sometimes find ourselves dragging the meeting out or filling time just to hit the ninety-minute mark. How do we run a high-impact meeting that stays under ninety minutes without losing its structural value?

A Level 10 Meeting™ is designed to be a maximum of ninety minutes, not a mandatory ninety minutes. If you are dragging the meeting out or adding filler, you are missing the point of the IDS® portion.

The secret to a high-impact, efficient meeting is to move quickly through the first twenty-five minutes of reporting so you can dedicate the bulk of your time to solving actual business friction. If your Scorecard is on track, your Rocks are on track, and your To-Dos are getting done, you should have a healthy list of operational issues to process.

If your weekly issues list is empty and you are finishing early, it is rarely because your business is perfect. More often, it means your team is not identifying and bringing real issues to the table. They might be holding back to avoid conflict, or they might be solving issues in silos during the week instead of bringing them to the team.

To keep the meeting high impact:

- Encourage everyone to populate the Issues List throughout the week, not just during the meeting.
- Ruthlessly cut off administrative updates and push those items directly to the Issues List.
- Ensure you are diving deep into root causes during IDS® rather than just talking about surface symptoms.

By maintaining this discipline, your weekly meeting will become the most valuable ninety minutes of your week, driving real traction and helping your leadership team operate at a high level.
